MARCO MENGONI: A fan’s tale

“What is it that compels you to go and listen many times to your favorite artist? …Is a gig not enough?“
We asked this question to an italian fan of talented singer Marco Mengoni, after the success of our exclusive interview before the Eurovision Contest.

We were pretty curious to know what pushes a fan to follow an artist almost everywhere, both on the social side and on the sold out tour across Italy. This is what Raffaella Marrazzo told us, together with great pics that she took from different shows. She entitled it “Words of a fan”, do you agree?

The career of the young and talented Italian artist Marco Mengoni started about 4 years ago, many people support him since his very first debut and have seen him grow up and evolve over the years, accompanying him step by step to success. He has a special relationship with his fans, a sincere bond, like that among brothers. people who follow him, travel around the country and even beyond national borders to participate to all his live performances, for example the great European event of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, first in Amsterdam and then in Malmoe where he ranked seventh. His active supporters have followed with trepidation every little news, becoming a sort of online “armed wing”. In short, a worthy “army” for a young talent.

However, it remains the question that fans, not only Marco Mengoni’s ones, they will have been asked a million times: Why do live music so closely and so intensely? What does motivate people of different age, gender and status to weave a bond so strong with their favorite? Something special came out putting pen to paper their “feel”. So, 5 are the key words which very frequently recur:

PASSION

Music is passion that pushes you beyond the limits, it gives you the need to experience it again… and again: a kind of addiction. a Mengoni’s concert is almost a sensory experience that involves body, mind and heart. The emotions are different and conflicting, words are tied to memories, atmospheres recall your own personal experiences. You can see immense pleasure on fan’s faces, it is a distillation of joy… That clogs thoughts of unique sensations which seem so vivid that you can not help but still be there, under his stage, in the midst of the concert’s magnificent frenzy.

CARE

Music’s the extraordinary strength to be care for the soul. Mengoni’s music is able to bring serenity and smiles, and there are those who, for this reason, calls him “sunshine”. Marco is a boy with a deeply sensitive soul, he is able touch feelings of each of his listeners. his voice is able to give you serenity despite every day’s difficulties you have to face. As the singer said: “Put your headphones and you’ll understand why you are in the world.”

FREEDOM

Music is also escapism, is courage, is emancipation, it is like to wear a pair of wings to fly beyond your ownborders.So, flight can be physical, but above all interior… Just turn up the volume and music becomes something amazing because it gives you a feeling of freedom which, paradoxically, imprisons and addicts you… Marco also says: << I “hate” music because I depend on it>>. Addiction, of course, but that triggers only positive reactions. Directly and indirectly, music of Marco’s music means freedom, new perspectives intertwined with your own experience. When the music is turned on, everything else stops existing.

SHARING

The engine that drives all the young singer’s fans is sharing. A direct line that the artist weaves thanks to the great power of social networks that make possible the union of so many people in the name of passion. Sharing… An important concept, so much that Mengoni makes a tribute to it in the title of his latest album, #PRONTOACORRERE, in which the hashtag refers to networks and sharing, a tribute to his followers so present in the digital world. Mengoni’s fan pages now have over 420,000 members: among them there are people of all kinds as young and old, women, men, housewives, students, workers, from all parts of Italy and abroad! from the UK, from Los Angeles, from Bulgaria… Only to come to Italy and hear him sing. It seems to be born to be on stage as if it were his natural habitat. However, once tunded the lights out, he comes back to be a simple boy, a bit shy with big eyes and bright, who has never ceased to seek contact with his audience and exchange views. He is always there, even from far away.

UNION

He called his fans “ARMY”, but in this case it is not synonym with approval, indeed, it expresses union. His fans know it well: united we win, they’re always present around him, returning him satisfactions and victories. This is because when you believe in someone or something, you do everything you can to bring it as high as possible, and the artistic project of Marco Mengoni is a kind of personal bet for each of us… His goals are also of all those who have supported him and support him always with affection. Just take part to any of his live performances to unterstand the “connection” between the artist and his audience, a visceral connection, made of warmth and continuous exchange, a mutual and intense sense of gratitude. Even the greatest artists in the past have had alongside people like these.

Nothing, absolutely nothing is missing to this guy to become an international music star, his Italian fans believe he has always been a star.

MARCO MENGONI HITS LOS ANGELES WITH FRANCO BATTIATO

Marco Mengoni is still touring until the end of the year with his Essenziale tour that seems like an everending affair as new dates are added all the time even to towns he has already been with it. But he is also working on his international career as we know the Spanish market invasion is in the making with songs in Spanish sometime in the future. Now it has been confirmed he will be also head lining the Billboards Hit Week 2013 where the famous magazine and trend setter showcases sounds from Italy, including also Franco Battiato and Erica Mou. It will be curious to hear then if he will perform in English or Spanish, or simply in Italian, as Los Angeles is also a center for Latin music market. Marco Mengoni y Franco Batttiato a la caza del Billboard

Unexpected Sounds of Italy promociona desde 2007 la música italiana en colaboración con Billboard, la revista especializada en información sobre la industria musical en Estados Unidos y una de las más antiguas del mundo, este año Mengoni y Battiato junto con Erica Mou han sido los elegidos para abanderar a Italia.

La gira de Marco Mengoni L’esssenziale Tour parece no tener fin, tiene ya programados 41 conciertos programados hasta el 20 de Octubre, con nuevas fechas incluso en ciudades en las que ya ha estado. Paralelamente trabaja en su carrera internacional decidido a conquistar el mercado latino con la próxima grabación de temas en castellano. Marco será uno de los protagonistas del Billboards Hit Week 2013 donde la revista estadounidense creadora de tendencias organiza un concierto con sonidos italianos.

Habrá que ver si Marco debuta en castellano en Los Ángeles, ciudad famosa por su gran mercado de música latina; actuará el 28 y 29 de Octubre, mientras que Battiato lo hará en Nueva York el día 9 y Toronto el 10 del mismo mes. Billboard también mantiene varias listas musicales, reconocidas internacionalmente, en las que se encuentran las canciones y álbumes más populares, clasificados en varias categorías.

MARCO MENGONI - 500.000 LIKES!

Marco Mengoni's success in Italy has no end. The multiplatinum selling album #prontoacorrere stays firmly in top-10 (being at #7 after 21 weeks in the charts when writing this), while the title track Pronto a correre has been one of the hits of summer 2013 (still at #16 in the downloads after 16 weeks), the tour that continues until October has been a sold out success everywhere and more dates have been added in bigger cities to accomodate all the fans... On top of that he's about to take off to Los Angeles and start conquering the Latin market. He has also picked up several awards and even more nominations, made Italy proud in Eurovision, won the Sanremo festival.....
The winning song and his Eurovision entry L'essenziale is the most sold/downloaded song in Italy between 31.12.2012-30.6.2013! The album is 6th most sold/downloaded at the same period.
His fans - Esercito - has always been a very active one, but another milestone has been reached: 500.000 likes on his official facebook page! For the occasion Marco himself posted a video and thanked his old and new likers. Congrats!

Marco Mengoni announces third #Prontoacorrere single

Marco Mengoni, the Italian representative at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest and 2013 San Remo winner, has announced on twitter today that the third single lifted from the PRONTOACORRERE album is Non Passerai.

The ballad, which also appears on the album in English as ‘My Magnetic Heart’, will be serviced on the Italian radio stations from tomorrow onwards, with an impact release date to follow in the forthcoming weeks. A video is most likely to follow soon too.

Mengoni, became famous for his distinctive voice and winning the local version of the X Factor in 2009. Since he’s successfully released three albums of which his latest being #PRONTOACORRERE.

It’s been an incredible year for Mengoni so far; selling out his album tour, winning the San Remo festival and achieving a respectable 7th place at the Eurovision Song Contest with his ballad ‘L’Essenziale’. Considering the success of the album and its singles, we have no doubt, Non Passerai will become another chart success for the young Italian artist.

Marco Mengoni editará su primer DVD en directo mientras prepara su viaje a Los Ángeles

Sigue el éxito de Marco Mengoni durante su gira L’esssenziale Tour que parece no tener fin, tiene ya programados 41 conciertos hasta el 20 de octubre, si no has podido asistir a ninguno de ellos ahora tendrás la oportunidad de ver el que ofreció en el espectacular Teatro Griego de Taormina el pasado 26 de agosto que ha sido grabado para ser publicado en DVD próximamente.

El Teatro Griego de Taormina  fue construido a principios del siglo VII a.c. desde el mismo se puede contemplar de manera espectacular la localidad de Giardini-Naxos y el volcán Etna. En este espectacular Marco Mengoni ofreció otro de sus conciertos en un escenario diseñado por Mamo Pozzoli que incluía nueve columnas de LED en perfecta armonía con las ruinas del teatro.

Además Marco prepara su viaje a Los Ángeles para finales de octubre, donde asistirá al Billboards Hit Week 2013 , en un claro intento de su rumoreado salto al mercado latino con el posible lanzamiento de #prontoacorrere en castellano.

Human Race is the title of Margaret Berger’s brand new single, and it’s one of the latest additions to our playlist. Margaret performed Norway’s entry to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, I Feed You My Love, which came fourth in the grand final. In the Best Song voting at the 2013 ESC Radio Awards the song faired even better, finishing in second place.

Two other 2013 ESC contestants are among the newbies: Italy’s representative Marco Mengoni has released Non Passerai (You Shall Not Pass) as the third single from his best-selling album Pronto A Correre. The song is an international collaboration, written by Lee DeWyze, Tobias Gad and Evan Bogart, with lyrics by Andrea Regazzetti. Non Passerai entered the Italian singles chart at #10. Forgive Me is the title of the new album by Eric Saade, Sweden’s 2011 ESC representative (Popular, placed third). It’s Eric’s fourth album release since the start of his solo career in 2009 and it shot straight to the no. 1 spot of the Swedish album charts last week. Dolly Parton’s 1980 hit song 9 to 5 has been covered by two of Eurovision’s big names, or ‘two divas’ as they were aptly labeled for this collaboration: Chiara from Malta and Hera Björk from Iceland. The song is available for download on iTunes and amazon, as part of the five-track EP Two Divas. Sensation Of Love is a recent single release of Miroslav ‘Miro’ Kostadinov, who represented his native Bulgaria at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway (Angel Si Ti / You’re An Angel). Despite not qualifying for the grand final in Oslo, Miro remains one of the biggest names on national music scene. Sensation Of Love was composed and written by Italian synth pop artist Ryan Paris, who scored a massive European hit in 1983 with the song Dolce Vita. Can’t judge a Bjork by her cover (nor a Siracusa)

‘Human Race’ is by far the best of the bunch, followed by ‘Non Passerai’ in distand second. ‘Count Me In’ is another ‘Tomorrow’, ‘Sensation of Love’ is a a going-to-nowhere dancebeat number and ‘Forgive Me’ is something I heard so many times before that I’m waqy over it.

The Italians are coming: Hit Week 2013 brings contemporary Italian music

The Italians are coming – but these particular Italians are bringing music, not, as in that TV car commercial, the latest model FIAT.

Hit Week, the international festival of contemporary Italian music, returns to North America in October with a series of concerts in Miami, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles.

The Hit Week artists represent a range of today’s Italian music, from traditional Southern Italian folk (Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino) to pop (Marco Mengoni) to DJ culture (Nicola Conte) to the difficult-to-classify (Franco Battiato, Musica Nuda). Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino and Nicola Conte will perform at Miami’s Hollywood ArtsPark October 5 and at New York’s Highline Ballroom October 8; Franco Battiato appears at the Highline October 9 for the first in a pair of shows with Musica Nuda, before heading to Toronto for an October 10 appearance at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino then offers a California concert double header on October 11 at UCLA and October 12 at Taste of Italy Los Angeles. Marco Mengoni will play two shows on October 29-30 at Hit Week Live, part of the Billboard Hollywood Reporter Film and TV Music Conference in Hollywood.

Hit Week was created to shatter stereotypes often associated with contemporary Italian music and its place in the international music scene – that of Italian music as lightweight and/or operatic pop. Hit Week since its inception has exposed audiences to the rich diversity of Italy’s music, and this year’s version is no exception. After debuting in Los Angeles in 2010, the festival has since touched down in New York, Washington DC, Miami, Toronto and Montreal, as well as Beijing and Shanghai and Rio de Janeiro.

The headliners of this year’s Hit Week are Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino – CGS for short – a septet from Salento, in Italy’s southern Puglia region. The band, which specializes in pizzica tarantata, a powerfully rhythmic traditional music with ancient roots, has been building a growing and devoted following since they began touring in North America several years ago. Led by Mauro Durante, a virtuoso violinist, percussionist and singer, CGS is a captivating and unique ensemble whose concerts win raves from critics and fans. (Reviewing their June 2013 show at New York’s Joe’s Pub, the New York Times said, “Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino lets the pizzica sing.”) They’re not only today’s premier exponents of pizzica – they’ve become a must-see attraction on the world music scene, including the WOMAD festival founded by Peter Gabriel and New York City’s globalFEST.

CGS has been touring in support of their latest album, Pizzica Indiavolata (the title roughly translates as “Demonic Pizzica”), a first-rate collection of traditional and updated pizzica, soulful ballads and work songs. The album, which features guest appearances by Malian kora virtuoso Ballaké Sissoko and the Anglo-Italian singer-songwriter Piers Faccini, entered the World Music Charts in Europe at #2 in December 2012 and was released internationally earlier this year.

Franco Battiato, from Sicily, is a 68-year-old singer, songwriter and composer who, since the 1970s, has been one of the most original figures in Italian music, straddling pop, progressive rock and classical. At Hit Week Battiato will perform music from his four-decade career, backed by a rock quartet. His recordings include Fetus, an influential prog-rock album released in 1971 and re-released in 2006; 1978's L'Egitto prima delle sabbie (Egypt Before the Sands), winner of a Stockhausen Prize for piano composition; La Voce del Padrone (The Boss’ Voice), from 1981; Fleurs, from 1999, the first of three albums of cover versions of pop classics, including the Rolling Stones’ “Ruby Tuesday”; 2007’s Il Vuoto (The Void) and 2012’s Apriti sesamo (Open Sesame).

Joining Battiato as special guests are Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti, the beguiling vocalist and resourceful bassist who make up Musica Nuda. True to their name, the duo strips down musical compositions to their essence, regardless of style or genre. But the minimalist format never sounds thin or insubstantial; this naked music comes very well dressed. Magoni and Spinetti have five critically-praised albums to their credit, including their self-titled 2003 debut, followed by Musica Nuda 2, a 2006 double album featuring such guest artists such as the great jazz pianist Stefano Bollani and the guitarist Fausto Mesolella, best-known for his work with the band Avion Travel.

Nicola Conte, a DJ and producer, is internationally known for his “lounge jazz” style that draws from bossa nova and Italian movie soundtracks of the 1960s and 1970s. A classically-trained musician, Conte founded the Fez Collective in the southern Italian city of Bari and Schema Records, a label specializing in “acid jazz” and other jazz styles.

At 24, Marco Mengoni represents a new generation of Italian singer-songwriters. He first achieved fame in Italy in 2009 when he won the third series of the Italian talent show, “X Factor.” He released two extended play recordings, Dove si vola and Re matto, followed by his first full-length studio album, Solo 2.0, in 2010. In 2010, he also became the first Italian artist to win the MTV Europe Music Award for Best European Act. In 2013, he was selected to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest, where he performed “L'essenziale.” The song, a hit single in Italy, is included in Mengoni’s album, #prontoacorrere, his fourth release to reach the number one spot on the Italian Albums Chart.

Marco Mengoni keeps on running

Rome, Italy -

There's no stopping Marco Mengoni in 2013. He was crowned Sanremo winner, performed for Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest, had the biggest hit of the year so far, L'Essenziale, and the most succesful album #prontoacorrere. And he is currently selling out dates of his tour, L'Essenziale 2013.

This year Italy was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest by their most successful artist of 2013, Marco Mengoni. Winner of the third series of X Factor Italy in 2009, he came third in the 2010 Sanremo Music Festival. Tipped as a favourite to win the 2013 edition Marco not only did so but was also selected to represent Italy in Eurovision.

Before going to Malmö, L'Essenziale went on to top the Italian singles chart for 8 weeks and was certified multi-platinum for domestic downloads. It is, so far, 2013's biggest selling song in Italy. After his 7th place in the contest, Marco also entered other European charts like the Spanish, the German or the Dutch ones.

Ready To Run

In March he released the album #prontoacorrere (Ready To Run), and yes, it is the biggest selling album in Italy so far in 2013. The title track is also the Marco's second single from the album, another smash hit that has already been certified platinum.

The song, written among others by Take That's Mark Owen and by Marco himself has been described by the singer "not as a love song; it talks about the scars left throughout life by human relationships, including those with friends or colleagues".

The new video

Some days ago Marco Mengoni released the third single entitled Non Passerai (You Won't Pass). The video is an interesting tribute to the extraordinary moment that Marco is living with with his public and was directed by Gaetano Morbioli too. Shot entirely in Paris, the main character is the "Collector of love" wandering in the City of Lights with a big heart and a strange cardboard box on his head asking for souvenir photos to all the people he meets on the streets:

The song was originally written in English by Tobias Gad, E. Kidd Bogart, and Lee DeWyze as My Magnetic Heart and was later translated and adapted in Italian by Andrea Regazzetti. Both versions are included in the special edition of the #prontoacorrere album.

Marco Mengoni entre os indicados do EMA 2013!

Desde 1994 as MTV's européias se juntam para celebrar o Europe Music Awards. A edição de 2013 tem sede e data definidas: será em Amsterdã, na Holanda no dia 10 de novembro. O site da MTV (inclusive o brasileiro!) já abriu as votações online para o público... Há alguns anos atrás, a MTV européia resolveu distribuir categorias dos melhores acts de todas as regiões do mundo, inclusive na América Latina.

Vários nomes mundialmente conhecidos, como Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa e One Direction, por exemplo, estarão lá. Porém vamos mostrar os destaques eurovisivos da edição 2013 do EMA para vocês. Vamos lá?

Em 2010, o italiano Marco Mengoni foi escolhido como o Best European Act (Melhor Artista Europeu) por todos os fãs da MTV. E mais uma vez ele compete pelo prêmio de Melhor Artista Italiano, com o peso de ser o vencedor do San Remo e um top 10 eurovisivo com sua L'Essenziale.

Lena Meyer-Landrut, campeã do Eurovision em 2010 com Satellite, está de volta a premiação depois de ter sido eleita a Melhor Artista Européia em 2011. Ela foi indicada ao prêmio de Melhor Artista Alemã depois de lançar seu novo álbum Stardust.

Na Espanha, os nossos entrevistados, os meninos do Auryn (NF Espanha 2011) também foram indicados ao prêmio de Melhor Artista Espanhol, graças ao novo trabalho dos meninos com canções em inglês como Make My Day.

A Grécia vem com dois nomes de peso: Sakis Rouvas (Grécia 2004 e 2009) e Michalis Hatzigiannis (Chipre 1998) estão na briga pelo prêmio de Melhor Artista Grego, que já foi vencido em 2009 pela também eurovisiva Helena Paparizou.

Pelo segundo ano consecutivo o duo Madcon está entre os indicados a Melhor Artista Norueguês. Lembrando que eles apenas fizeram a música tema do Eurovision 2010, Glow... Falando em música tema do Eurovision, o DJ Avicii, que participou de We Write The Story (com Benny e Bjorn do ABBA), música tema do Eurovision 2013, também está indicado e é o grande favorito para o prêmio de Melhor Artista Sueco.

MARCO MENGONI - THE JOURNEY IN DVD

Marco Mengoni's year has been a real journey, and this "viaggio" will be featured in a DVD that will be released on November 12, 2013. The journey starts by winning Sanremo 2013, followed by over 100.000 copies sold of the single L'Essenziale, over 90.000 of the album #prontoacorrere and leading up the magnificent concert held in Sicily, in Taormina's Teatro Antico during the triumphant L'Essenziale Tour. And the cover image of the DVD matches very nicely the Greek cultural heritage of the theatre; it's a mosaic of photos sent by his fans, their faces. Looks fantastic! #prontoacorrereilviaggio will be shown for the first time in cinemas all over Italy on November 6, 2013 at 20.30.

Marco Mengoni prepara un nuevo DVD: #Prontoacorrereilviaggio

El italiano lanzará el 12 de noviembre su segundo DVD en el que repasa el que ha sido el mejor año de su carrera, el cantante que sigue de gira hasta el 20 de octubre se encuentra nominado a los EMA MTV como mejor intérprete italiano y a final de mes se dará a conocer en Los Ángeles.

#Prontoacorrereilviaggio repasa el auténtico viaje de Marco en DVD, un viaje que empezó con la victoria en Sanremo 2013 y la venta de 100.000 copias de su canción L’Essenziale y de 90.000 de su álbum #prontoacorrere para acabar con el espectacular concierto en el Teatro Antiguo de Taormina.

El artista ya colaboró en el DVD Sei Zero editado en 2011 en el que junto a otros artistas interpreta temas a dúo con el conocido Renato Zero.

Last Weekend, Marco Mengoni appeared on the X Factor Italy, a show he is very familiar with. Indeed Marco won the 2009 edition of the competition and has had since then enjoyed a successful career in his home country. His career took a more international direction when he won the San Remo Festival and was therefore chosen to represent Italy at the 58th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

Marco Mengoni appeared on the show to help Franco-Lebanese singer songwriter and international star, Mika, to select the 3 contestants he would take in his team for the Live Shows. They both flew to Dublin for the competition and Mika came back to Italy with his 3 finalists.

Marco Mengoni has been very busy after the contest promoting his new album which reached the top spot in Italy and he is currently finishing his national tour this evening in Milan. November will see a new release in his discography, Pronto a correre il viaggo, a live album and film recorded this summer. Fans will be able to see the DVD content at the cinema during a satellite live broadcast on 6 November at 8:30 PM across Italy.

The live version of his album Pronto A Correre, simply called Pronto a correre il viaggio, was recorded on 26 August 2013 at the Teatro Antico of Taormina. The DVD will include exclusive interview, a backstage documentary and will feature 16 songs:

Marco Mengoni keeps running and made it all the way to Los Angeles and Hit Week 2013. Let' see what comes out of this new adventure, will he take on the Americas next? Watch his performances there here and here. More here and here. It seems he had prepaired different showcases for those two days. The unplugged acoustic set sounds pretty fantastic!
Next he will be all over Italy in cinemas and also representing Italy in the OGAE video contest, and fighting to become the best European act in the EMAs but more about those later....

Lena or Marco? Europe has their say tonight

Amsterdam, The Netherlands - MTV European Music Awards are to be held tonight in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Among others, two Eurovision Song Contest artists are in the game - Lena and Marco Mengoni!
While they have never competed against each other at the Eurovision Song Contest, Lena and Marco Mengoni will do just that tonight at the MTV European Music Awards. Both of them are in the game for the Worldwide Act Award against eight other current pop sensations, such as Justin Bieber and One Direction.

Lena, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 and came back to defend her title in 2011, has had quite some success with her third studio album Stardust which certified gold in Germany and peaked at number two in their charts.

She's also been in the running for the same award before, namely back in 2011 but failed to take it home. She did, however, score one of the top European

Marco Mengoni carried the Italian flag this year at Europe's favourite TV show and finished seventh with his song L'essenziale. His second studio album #prontoacorrere, released this year, has become quite a commercial success in Italy and was certified platinum.

To reach this round, both of them already won the vote in their region and thus have already earned the respect in the eyes of their home audience. Previously, also the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest winner Dima Bilan has been a candidate for the award.

Marco Mengoni, who represented Italy at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, has released a special box set to celebrate his extraordinary year in the world of music.

After winning the 63rd Sanremo Music Festival, Marco Mengoni has had an extremely successful year; 9x platinum album, 2 Wind Music Awards, 2 MTV EMA Awards and a 40 day sell out tour as well as representing his country at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.

Marco Mengoni live in Milan next Monday

Marco Mengoni the 2013 Italian Eurovision representative will be giving a live session in Milan, Italy during an award proclamation gala.

On Monday 18 November the Italian multimedia publishing group TV Media Group will hold the final gala of its International Events & Relational Strategies GrandPrix, which is an award dedicated to the most innovative and effective techniques of consumer marketing.

This year's edition of the GrandPrix is the 20th, and the final ceremony will celebrate the proclamation of the winners and the award's anniversary. Such a special occasion will count with the participation of a very special guest, none other than this year's Eurovision Song Contest Italian entrant Marco Mengoni, who will give a live session during the ceremony. This was announced yesterday through a Facebook event.

The final gala will take place next Monday in the event center Alcatraz, in Milan, with Marco's live session beginning at 21.00 CET. Free passes for the event can be picked up (one per person, 300 available) at the Colonial Café Antigua 1789, in Corso Magenta 85, Milan, Italy from today at 10.00 CET.

Marco Mengoni was the winner of the third edition of the Italian version of the talent show X Factor. He represented Italy in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with the ballad L'Essenziale.

Italian Singer Marco Mengoni to Release iBook Author

Italian singer-songwriter Marco Mengoni will release an iBook Author on December 3 on iTunes, called “#PRONTOACORREREILMIOVIAGGIO” (“ready to run my journey”). He is the first Italian singer to release an iBook Author and the third in the world in the field of music: before him, only Coldplay and Led Zeppelin came out with a similar project.

It is an interactive book written entirely by Mengoni, made of videoclips, images, thoughts and ideas he will be updating in the next few months. A sort of digital diary where he collects the experiences and emotions of the past year, which was very successful for him.

Mengoni rose to fame in 2009, after winning the third series of the talent show X Factor, Italy edition. In 2013, he won the 63rd Sanremo Music Festival, with his song, “L’essenziale.” During his career, Mengoni has received several awards, including seven Wind Music Awards and two Italian MTV Music Awards. In 2010 he also became the first Italian artist to win the MTV Europe Music Award for Best European Act. Mengoni was born in Ronciglione near Viterbo (Lazio). “L’essenziale” was included in his second studio album "#prontoacorrere," released in Italy in March 2013.

MARCO MENGONI IN X FACTOR - AGAIN

Marco Mengoni won the Italian X Factor 3 and the 7th season just concluded a couple of days ago. In the final there were four artists left; Ape Escape, Violetta Zironi, Aba and Michele Bravi and they all had to do also a duet wit a famous Italian artist. Ape Escape got together with Elisa performing her fantastic Labyrith, Violetta got Marco Mengoni on her side and they did his Eurovision entry and Sanremo winner L'Essenziale, Aba did wih Mario Biondi his Close to you while the eventual winner Michele did one of this blogger's favorite songs ever, Gocce di memoria with Giorgia. One can only hope Marco and Giorgia had a little chat about Eurovision... (well, this blogger would be happy with any of these three names for Eurovision; Elisa? Mario? Hello?)
Anyways, Marco has had an incredible year and returning to where it all started from seems more than fitting. He already appeared in the season before as he was giving helping hand to Mika, one of the judges. Worth remembering Mika has also been flirting with Eurovision in the past....

El italiano desvela en una entrevista en el portal sorrisi.com sus intenciones de aterrizar pronto en España. Durante el mes de junio ya volvió a los estudios para empezar a preparar los temas en castellano y en octubre visitó Los Ángeles, cuna de la música latina, para promocionarse en el Billboard Hit Week.

No es la primera vez que hablamos del gran triunfador de Eurovisión 2013. A pesar de no haber pasado de un séptimo lugar, previamente se hizo con la victoria en Sanremo, Marco ha arrasado con casi 150.000 copias vendidas de su #prontoacorrere que le llevaron al #1 en Italia con dobleplatino. L’essenziale también logró llegar al #1, vender 60.000 copias y ser el video más visto en VEVO Italia.

Ahora el cantante apunta al mercado latino según sus declaraciones en una reciente entrevista. Ante la pregunta “Los aficionados españoles en Twitter comenzaron a pasar factura …“, Marco contestaba: “Touché, y de hecho es ahí donde voy a llegar muy pronto“. El cantante también afirma sobre su disco: “Estamos preparando algo, voy a ir al extranjero no solo para descansar, sino también para trabajar. Vamos a llevar este disco y mi música a otros lugares“.

Esperemos que así sea y que pronto tengamos una versión en castellano de las canciones de Marco Mengoni.

Marco Mengoni se abre paso en el mercado musical español


El representante de Italia en el Festival de Eurovisión 2013, Marco Mengoni, ha comenzado a preparar la versión en castellano de su álbum «#PRONTOACORRERE». El cantante italiano ha cosechado un gran éxito en España tras su paso por Malmö 2013.

Marco Mengoni tuvo una gran aceptación entre el público español, que le brindó su apoyo durante su candidatura en Eurovisión. Muestra de este apoyo fueron los 12 puntos que España le otorgó. Por ello, Marco no ha dudado en preparar la versión en castellano de su álbum «#PRONTOACORRERE». De momento, ya podemos disfrutar de «Incomparable», la versión en castellano de «L’Essenziale», canción con la que Marco llevó a Italia al 7º puesto en la Final de Eurovisión 2013.

Por ahora, «Incomparable» sólo está disponible en iTunes y Amazon, ya que forma parte de la banda sonora de un conocido programa de televisión español, aunque ya se ha filtrado a Youtube.
